About Tina Barnes
I started seeing things differently when I was a little girl, I started taking photographs at the age of 7 and my first camera I was a 110. The high school guidance counselor tried talking me out of taking photography in college and stated, “You won't make any money”. I didn't listen to him, I went on and received my associate degree in photography. I did listen to my collage advisor who said I would make more money in advertising photography, which prompted me to minor in fine arts photography. After college I went to work for a locally owned Photo Company, I worked in the retail store doing portraits, custom framing, selling cameras and accessories. When that business came to an end after 90 years and closed their doors, I went into dentistry working alongside her father in-law and brother in-law. Twenty-six years in dentistry, I never lost the desire for taking photographs. I have photographed many auto races, hockey games and a few weddings. After a very long hiatus I have recently gotten back into doing what I love, photography. I have shown and sold artwork at my local Visual Art Center, local Arts and Humanities Council Arts in Public Places, and local Arts and Humanities Gallery. I am currently the photographer for Opera, the Visual Art Center and the 2.4 Regatta Series in my area. I have six years of photography education and a lifetime of passion for photography, and have expanded my art skill set to computer graphic arts, acrylic painting, and resin art.
